Supporting Long Term Carers

Recognising that once the caring role is over, Bury has nothing to offer these former Carers who have often lost social contacts.

The group meets monthly at a church hall (St John's Church Hall, Bury) when speakers activities are arranged. There is also a quiz to encourage interaction.

There is no membership fee, but people are encouraged to bring along a raffle prize and buy raffle tickets, this, along with charging for tea/coffee and cakes helps provide the rental cost of the room.

At least one activity is planned each month when members can go out together. In winter months, this has been to local restaurants. In warmer weather the group travel together to local places of interest (eg. Rochdale Fire Brigade Museum)
